Kamal issue freeze during deploy

I face an issue when manually deploying from my laptop that happens too often I think it may be because of internet speeds but it’s weird it happens. If I run kamal deploy it will go through the bundle step and usually freezes at the end of this step once it gets to the bundle fund part in the logs sometimes even during installing the gems it will freeze.

This is the usual freeze spot for me.

It doesn’t matter how long I leave this it still does not progress at all just stays frozen.

If I use GitHub actions and deploy from there it is able to do everything very fast I’m guessing because internet speeds at the datacenter are insanely strong.

I have this too, i thought at first my droplet can't finish an install was using postgres with 1GB. Now I just made a fresh rails app without postgres and only sqlite and still freeze on my 1GB droplet.

Pretty sure this is related to #747

I think it has to do with being on mac building building for amd64

Which is the default build target.

People say to use the AMD emulation with docker but doing so will cause TailwindCSS deploys to fail and your styling to get messed up which is why I don't use it.

Yes, it is. As pointed out in the Rails issue, it is not related to Rails itself, rather to a bug in bootsnap.

For now, the workaround is to force single-threaded bootsnap precompile to avoid Buildx/QEMU hangs.
