I have to set up "Platform" in settings because it forever forgets.
Please fix it. It is a really annoying issue

Have you tried using the Domain Registry configuration in the plugin settings? The plugin can use this to automatically select the right host each time you open a new project so you don't have to configure it manually each time.

I had same problem - using remote private hosted gitlab.

Adding the private gitlab domain name to "Domain registry" fixed it for me.
