Add a field type - Document: PDF, etc

While playing around with various things I can add to my collection I found something that I thought would be useful. There are many occasions where additional information can be added to a record and the long text field can't handle. If I already have a PDF file, it would be nice to be able to view it in app so a link to open it as a field type would be nice.
Everything else is working just fine ATM.

If I understand correctly, I think you can already do that with the "File" field type

The file option is useful, but rather than open the file for viewing, it initiates a download. I was hoping to view it like an image file.
