The latest version mongoengine-extras (0.0.1) in PyPI is not up to date with the latest fixes:

  • slugify() doesn't do unicode normalization
  • always_update keyword argument isn't implemented
  • The slug seems to be updated on the object itself (but not saved in the database) even when the title isn't changed
