Feature request: Internet Explorer-like tab elongation

Description:

This feature was introduced in Internet Explorer 9 (also in IE10 & IE11) as a tab management feature. I would very much love to see it in the Firefox browser. I don't know the official name of that feature, so I unofficially named it "tab elongation"

The triple, quadruple or more tab elongation (which was shown in the second video) would be more difficult to implement when compared to regular double tab elongation, but it would be theoretically possible.

I put this feature request to discussions instead of issues due to the complexity of implementing and also for people to better see this feature request and easier discussion about this feature.
