Can't get zentile to auto start in lxde

I have install a minimal version of lxde (lxde-core) on ubuntu server 22.04. I've configured zentile in the lxde autostart file. Is there a log I can look at to see what's happening? I put zentile in a bash script and the rest of the commands in the script work fine. Works great in xfce and openbox but not in lxde. Thanks.
