Bottlerocket build in aws codebuild

Can someone help explain why bottlerocket build does not work in aws codebuild environment (even in privileged mode), but works well in EC2 instance.

In aws codebuild, the build process failed with random package with following error, libseccomp as an example:

Hey @NaomiLYJ, thanks for opening this discussion. There are a couple of things you can look at while building Bottlerocket:

• How much storage do you have available in your Code Build environment?
• Have you setup docker in your Code Build environment?
• Do you have the rest of the logs? The errors you shared are sometimes the result of a build error elsewhere.

The work we did for the Core Kit was part of a bigger goal to allow users build their own spin off of Bottlerocket without forking the entire repo. You should be able to have your own "Out Of Tree" variant, but I'm wondering if the you actually need on if the only thing you are changing are the chrony configs to store the logs somewhere. I have a couple of questions for your use case:

• Is this the only configuration you are planning to change in your own build?
• Are you not able to fetch the logs from the journal, and that's why you are storing them in a file?

No, that's just an example, there are possible other similar changes that I would like to add, for example, adding gvisor runsc package and update the configuration in containerd package to use runsc as runtime, and so on

HI @arnaldo2792 @jpculp, the build in codebuild works with retry logic (retry would resume the build)

But I have a new issue with the build from the dev branch with the core-kit solution in codebuild:

Do you have any idea why is it different? I've tried both arm and x86_64 of codebuild, neither of them is working

Just FYI: I managed to get it work with the docker configurations mentioned in the newly updated documentation
