Squad is optimized for the GitHub Copilot CLI. We've experimented with trying to optimize it around all three experiences - the CLI, VS, and VS Code - but the optimal experience is still the CLI.

Squad is optimized for the GitHub Copilot CLI (best experience) and works great in VS Code with Copilot Chat + agent mode. Classic Visual Studio doesn't currently support the agent mode that Squad requires.

I'd recommend trying the CLI (copilot --agent squad) or VS Code as your Squad development environment — you'll get the full interactive agent experience. Let us know if you have questions about getting set up! 💪
