Mod crashes steamVR #626

I do not know how this happens, but after a few seconds in the main menu (working correctly), the console says that the headset has been removed, the vr dashboard shows a single pink stripe (display error) then it stops rendering so badly that even after turning off VHVR steamvr refuses to render anything including its own limbo. Its just stuck on the last frame from VHVR. I do not have any mods other than VHVR installed.

The logs dont seem to have anything interesting or even related in them, aside for saying the headset has been put on twice and then removed once?
