i havent embedded the icons yet to save about 5kb of binary size 😄 that means you'll need to load the icons manually via options > settings – there's a yellow hint box in the top right, hopefully it also points you to the download

Kudos for a quick response. And to the icon-issue; D'oh! The only place I didn't look... However, your approach of trying to avoid code bloat is right up my alley. And it appears to be quite rare these days, so more kudos coming your way!
Clicking the hint triggered a flawless process of installing icons. Cool.

I watched a YouTube video about CrapFixer and decided to try it a few days ago. I used this version.

I applied fixes with only these options unchecked:
Basic Disk Cleanup
Winget App Updates
Disable Network Throttling
Disable Power Throttling
Disable Visual Effects

Later, I discovered that the Microsoft Store no longer works, and several apps installed from the Store stopped working. When I tried to open the Store, I received a message saying it was disabled by the administrator. I spent a lot of time trying to restore it using various methods found online, but without success. Finally, I had to restore Windows from a backup image made two days earlier.

Do you know which services are responsible for the Microsoft Store that I should avoid disabling?

the only thing that comes to mind is the key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore]
"RemoveWindowsStore"=dword:00000000

but crapfixer doesnt touch that by default

i honestly have no idea whats going on.
ive run the apps (IMPORTANT without plugins!) on dozens of clients and never had anything like this happen.

did you maybe load or run some of the external plugins after all?

No, I didn’t. But I am running Windows 11 Insider Preview build 10.0.26120 (Beta Channel), and earlier I applied some changes similar to CrapFixer using O&O ShutUp10++. Perhaps, to apply both is too much?
And no, there is (and was) no any WindowsStore policy in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\

i don’t know the mentioned program nor have i used it. maybe there are store-related settings mentioned tool?.crapfixer probably didnt cause the issue with the store

I have been using O&O ShutUp10++ for more than two years and have not had any issues so far.
The problem with the Microsoft Store arose immediately after I applied changes with CrapFixer.
Maybe I’ll try again later to see if the issue recurs. For now, I need to take a break from these experiments and restorations :)

like i said before, there’s no native setting in crapfixer that explains this behavior. maybe it’s the external plugins from crapfixer if you used any, i dont have all of them memorized though
