As part of the process of making the results of the Computing Bootcamp more credible, we use a website called Badgr which can award electronic verifiable badges, that prove that students actually learned what they claim they did. To test this knowledge, we use various GitHub repositories which contain tasks for the students to complete. After forking the repository and then making a pull request, students can have their work checked and verified. If a students work is accurately completed, they should be award the badge. Currently, four modules have functional badging repositories:

  • Git
  • GitHub
  • Make
  • CMake

The ultimate goal is for every module to both have a badge and have a way to automatically award it without the need for any person to check the work.
Documentation for adding badging to your module can be found at this page and this page
In this thread, please include any suggestions for future badging improvements or possibilities.
