Hello guys!

Are there any plans to implement a built-in authentication system? It is really complicated to configure out-of-lxd authentication systems like OAuth, which may increase the burden on administrators. I think it is a good idea to implement a built-in authentication system. A good example is the auth system inside Proxmox. :P

Hello @geekifan and thank you for your request.

Yes, we do plan to work on authentication in March or April 2024.

Thanks a lot for your reply :) I have a little bit more questions. I have been using lxd for a few months and find that it is not so user friendly for cluster administrators because it doesn't have a full-featured webui. What is the ultimate goal of this project? Will lxdui finally become a frontend similar to Proxmox VE?

Anyway, I appreciate for contributions of you guys. lxdui is awesome 🥳

The overarching goal is to achieve feature parity between the LXD command line and the UI. In other words, users should be able to fully set up and manage their private cloud through the LXD-UI.

As of now, the UI already includes support for clusters. I would be interested to learn about any specific features that you might find lacking or missing in the current implementation. Your feedback on any functionalities that you believe should be incorporated into the UI for a more comprehensive and seamless private cloud management experience would be valuable.
