This issue is not a duplicate and I have checked the wiki.
Current Behavior
Right clicking on a game in my library and selecting Add Desktop Shortcut does nothing. I'm assuming it doesn't have permission to create the shortcut there, but there wasn't any sort of error or popup to indicate what the problem was.
It works out of the box when installing steam via sudo apt install steam
Expected Behavior
Clicking Add Desktop Shortcut creates a shortcut on my desktop
Steps To Reproduce
1: Go to library
2: Right click on a game
3: Select Add Desktop Shortcut
Environment
I don't have the snap installed anymore, so I can't run this. But I'm on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS and installed Steam 1.0.0.81 latest/stable from the App Center
gaming-graphics-core22 version
