Timeline Zoom / Viewport Control for Longer Recordings

When editing recordings that are a few minutes long (for example, 2–3 minutes), the timeline only shows a few seconds of footage at a time. This makes it hard to get an overview of the full recording and to navigate between different sections efficiently. To move between parts of the video, I have to constantly scroll, which is slow and imprecise.

Solutions

• A zoom slider or plus/minus buttons near the timeline or
• Keyboard shortcuts (for example, Cmd + / Cmd - or trackpad pinch-to-zoom) to quickly change zoom level.

also a setting where we can choose the number of seconds a piece of footage is shown in the timeline
