Hey! I stumbled upon this code after accidentally getting a Vx510 for free from a friend. I'm interested in using it for bitcoin. I was reading the code, and as it says, it's a stub. It would be awesome to be able to contact whoever was responsible for this code, and be able to resume work.

I'm not sure if the people working on this is interested on following with the project or not, but it would be helpful to have contact with any of em to solve any doubts that may follow.

It would be interesting to keep working on this, since these machines seem not so expensive and part of the code is already open source, people would be able to get one and install the software and start taking or selling bitcoin with a POS.

If anyone wants to help with this, I already have a machine, I'm not sure how to load the code (Has a usb host port and a RS232 port, maybe the latter?) and also I don't have the environment set up for compiling this. I'm gonna try and work on this matter and get more people involved thay may want to have the option of an open source POS running on common Verifone hardware.

Hit me up at pons "at" p0ns "dot" org or via github if you are interested in helping with this.

Felipe.

Verifone doesn't give out the compiler freely. So unless you have authorized Verifone developers compiling and loading up the terminals its not a feasible project.

Yea, that's what I finally figured. The compiler comes with the SDK that comes with the certification that you have to pay for.

Sadly my Vx510 is still there waiting for software :(
