Can this work with Claude Web? Or only with Claude Desktop and Code?

Our team uses Claude Teams, and it would be great to connect that up to Nextcloud. Does this server work with the Claude web interface?

hi @looeee, using this MCP Server in a team setting via Claude Web requires OAuth support within Nextcloud. I've added OAuth support in the MCP server so you will be able to connect Claude Web to a publically available instance of your MCP Server; however, Nextcloud itself doesn't support OAuth for third-party apps yet - see Upstream OAuth Status for details. In effect, you'll be able to connect the MCP server, but it won't be able to connect to Nextcloud on your behalf until PRs are merged upstream.

I'm currently developing the OAuth support in this app with those patches in-mind, and that's why it's considered experimental

If you host your own version of Nextcloud and are comfortable applying the necessary patches, see ./app-hooks/patches, or let me know a bit more about your setup and I can try to help.

I'm using Nextcloud AIO for my company. I'd rather not apply any unofficial patches in case I break something, so I've subscribed to your upstream PR and I'll give this another go when that gets merged.

Hi @looeee, I've recently added support for https://smithery.ai as a hosting option for those interested in trying the server out without dealing with any infrastructure.

This supports any publicly accessible nextcloud instance with just an app-password - no oidc patches required.
