Munder Difflin now has a Discord server. It has been quietly open for a couple of days and it is
ready for people, so the door is unlocked, the coffee is bad, come in.

To be clear about what changes: nothing here does. GitHub stays the source of truth. Bugs go in
issues, questions that deserve a permanent
answer go in Q&A,
and releases still ship from this repo. Discord is for the conversations that don't survive being
written down. "Is it supposed to do that", "which CLI are you actually running", a screenshot of
your floor at 3am with eleven agents arguing.

What's in there

Seven channels. That is the whole server, and it is deliberate.

Most servers die of channel sprawl: twenty rooms, eighteen of them silent, and a newcomer with no
idea where to type. We would rather add a channel when a conversation genuinely outgrows its room.

The server is wired to this repo, so release and PR activity shows up in #build on its own. The
custom emoji are the app's own procedurally drawn cast portraits, so you can react to things with the
actual staff.

Roles you can earn

• on the payroll for turning up and picking your interests during onboarding. That's it.
• employee of the month, granted automatically when a PR of yours is merged. There is now an
  optional Discord: field in the PR template.
  Put your handle there, and when the PR lands a bot finds you and assigns the role. No mapping file
  to maintain, no one to chase, nothing to claim. Leave the field blank and nothing happens, so it is
  entirely opt in.
• people ops and management are maintainers, so you know who is answering.

Where the project is

Latest build is v0.4.4 for
macOS .dmg, Windows setup, and Linux .AppImage. Free, MIT licensed, local first, and running on

Three things that would genuinely help

1. Join and say what you're building in #water-cooler. A new
   server is mostly vibes and hope. A few real conversations fix that.
2. Bring the thing that didn't work to #help. Anything that turns out to be a real bug will get
   moved to an issue, so nothing is lost by starting there.
3. Post your floor in #office-tour. Screenshots of other people's setups are the single best
   documentation this project has.
