Gantt Chart and Timeline Chart

As the title suggests are there any plans on supporting Gantt and Timeline Charts in the near future? Or have people found out a way to use the current features to make a good gantt/timeline chart without writing complicated configurations?

I was thinking about something like this that is available in Highcharts:
