According to the software citation principles, version information is crucial. In lieu of a DOI, versions (plus something else) can be used to uniquely identify cited software. IMHO, version information is likely to be provided even if there is a PID or other identifier available.

Hence, although the information is optional for a valid CFF, it would be better to have it after Authors and before Identifiers in the breadcrumb.
