What happened?
When Steam is not running, FiveM crashes after some time with the message:
"Steam process has exited. The game will now close."
There is no Steam process running in the background at all.
Within about 10 minutes after launching FiveM, the game always crashes with this message, even though Steam was never started. After I turn on Steam, the game no longer crashes.
I don't have GTA on Steam, but on Epic, and it doesn't even run in the background.
Expected result
FiveM should not crash in this situation.
Reproduction steps
- Start the PC.
- Make sure Steam is not running (it is disabled on startup).
- Launch FiveM.
- Connect to any server.
- Wait for a few minutes.
