Handling of ILI-files, saved as "UTF8 with BOM"

When I import an ILI, saved as UTF8 with BOM, there are no problems to display and arrange the diagram and ...
But when I use "Tools - Interlis - Check models", it fails with this message:

I don't know the dependencies, but here is a similar BOM problem:
