The Switchboard is a major piece of the CLARIN (and, by evolution, apparently also the SSHOC) infrastructure. We should make sure to be as fully aligned with it as is feasible.

We should definitely not recommend MIME types different from those recognised by the Switchboard (in the sense of not clashing; we can still mention new MIME types that haven't made it into the Switchboard and then hope that the Switchboard is going to use them as well, in time).

Let us track the MIME type list of the Switchboard and try to incorporate it and then pull it in, occasionally, for updates.
