Mission Statement
Our mission is to make it easy for everyone to find and use medication data.
Overall Product Vision
At SageRx, we want to improve access to medication data. Our platform will provide clean and trustworthy medication data (expanding into additional data over time). Users can develop custom datasets, visualize data through dashboards, and integrate data into existing applications, SageRx plans to be a data hub.
By creating a place to easily find and use medication data, it will spark new ideas and teamwork in the healthcare community.
Target Audience
Our initial product offering focused on technical health tech users to run the platform themselves. But now, the SageRx relaunch wants to help anyone who needs medication data, even if they're not tech experts. If you're someone who struggles to find or spends a lot of time manipulating medication data, our platform aims to make it easier for you to use this data in your work.
Value Proposition
SageRx aims to give you all the data you need, neatly organized and ready to use. With our help, you can spend less time searching and processing data, and more time making a difference with the information you find. Using our data through visualizations or by downloading (eventually through an API), you can unlock value without worrying about the underlying infrastructure.
Flywheel
Imagine a big wheel that's hard to start spinning but gets faster and faster once it's moving. That's what we want for SageRx. As more people use our website and find useful information, they'll share their creations with others. That means even more people will use SageRx, creating a cycle of learning and discovery that never stops.
How the flywheel works:
|> - SageRx provides clean and trustworthy medication data
| - Users learn from the data and make cool things such as charts and dashboards
| - Other users see these creations and get inspired to learn more
<| - More people want to use SageRx, so we keep adding more helpful data
Each step makes SageRx more valuable to everyone who uses it.
Key Functionality
To realize our vision, SageRx will need to focus on a few essential features:
Components:
Hosted version of SageRx in the cloud, managed by the SageRx team
Authorization system (such as Auth0), ensuring limited access and thus controlling costs
Data changelog, for easier explanation to users and over time data
Data documentation, allowing users to understand what is available and in which table(s)
Data quality validation, ensuring high trust with our users
Visualization platform, such as Superset, to allow users to query and utilize the data
Optional Components:
API, to call queries and extract data
Success Metric
We'll know we're doing a good job if lots of people use our platform to find a variety of medication data. When we first launch, we'll let a small group of people try it out. Others will have to sign up for a waitlist (allowing scarcity to drive interest). That way, we can make sure it's working well (and allow us to control hosting costs) before more people can join. We want people to keep coming back to our project and finding new insights, so we'll keep track of how many different questions people ask (aka novel queries). The more questions people ask, the more we'll know they find value in using our platform.
We aim to grow a community of active and enthusiastic members, who, thanks to their feedback and our continuous improvement, will help fuel SageRx's momentum and thus its impact.
