Graceful shutdown for the p2p networks

Hi all, I was wondering if there are plans to add graceful shutdown to the p2p networks, similar to how it was added to Simplex recently.

The networks could use the same pattern here and here

I'm happy to make a PR for this if this is desired.

Definitely is! We are tracking this here #507 (to tackle after #1110).

If you want to do an intermediate cleanup the meantime to borrow from simplex, would be happy to review!
