Product Options don't delete unless other Option chosen

On a v2.8.5.4-CS I have experienced to following behavior:

1. Add a Product
2. Add Product Options "Checkbox"
3. Populate Checkbox Options, save to product
   Now when deleting the Checkbox Options and saving to product, the options are loaded on page reload and are still visible in product view

To remove the Options effectively, you have to:

1. Delete the Option (Checkbox)
2. Select another Option (i.E. Text) without adding any Input
3. Save to product

Now the Options are removed from the product.

I couldn't replicate this on my development version, I'm thinking it may have been fixed along the way. Will be putting a new release out soon. Is is perhaps solved by this?
