Update_pypi_package #3

Hello,
I would like to integrate this script into a project i am working on. However i would like to add single vcf output option, perhaps optimally have it as a pypi package (the setup.py format is outdated).
Wondering if you have any maintenance on this project? If it would be alright if i develop on it? Would you like to be added as contributer?
PS: it is a publicly funded open-source project.
