Incus can create & manage (local or remote) VMs and "system" Containers using most any Linux Distro you want to utilize regardless of the Host OS. Incus can also run both Docker and Flatpak "nested" in its system Containers.

Incus can directly utilize OCI images just as it does for its System Containers & VMs.

Incus primarily uses the features of the Linux kernel, namespaces and cgroups, to virtualize System Containers, while for Virtual Machines, it leverages the host system's hardware capabilities, using utilizing QEMU to run them*, effectively allowing for the execution of different operating systems on the same Host machine; essentially providing both Containerization and full Virtual Machine functionality depending on the chosen method.

On Youtube's Awesome Open Source channel there is a good video on Coolify.
At the 23m30s mark he discusses & shows deploying & configuring Coolify Services to Incus Containers.

The creator of that Video told me:

I currently use LXConsole to create a new Incus Container/VM on a host, then use Coolify to deploy apps to that host.

For me the true, complete solution would be the ability to both create a Container/VM, and then deploy a service on it all in one step from one application.

And the final missing piece, which Coolify almost solves, would be having it reverse proxy once deployed.

The Incus API is quite extensive in features/capabilities

So I, like the creator of the Youtube video, would be very interested in a more integrated capability for Coolify to utilize
Incus & LXConsole if that was possible.
