Can any kind heart confirm me the connection diagram of IR Led with 2n222a transistor and required resistor and specific pin of esp8266. Can not find what should be the resistor value in any tutorial.
I can not make any device recognize IR signal whereas arduino ir receiver module recognizes every signal from the transmitter.
Can you please show me a simple example on how to send signal to the LG air conditioner using built in function?

It all depends on your circuit and the specifications of the IR Led you're using.

If another board can still detect it, and real devices can't, it probably because your LED signal/circuit is not powerful enough. That is, the IR led is not getting enough current.

just found out i'm using 850nm IR led which has better beam angle than the 940nm ones. The beam angle for 850nm led is 50 degree whereas 940nm led has 30 degree beam angle. I'm assuming higher beam angle can cover more wider range.

Yes, a wider angle beam angle gives you more coverage, how ever that usually comes with a reduced transmission power/strength vs. one with a tighter angle.

850nm is the wrong wavelength. Most IR demodulators used for consumer remotes/devices are tuned to 940nm.

I'm amazed your setup even works using those LEDs. This probably explains a lot of your issues.

even I am amazed that powering my esp8266 with a 5v and 2amp microusb charger, the 850nm led can operate the aircon from almost 10 feet apart. but i don't see any wide angle advantage, the led had to be pointed directly to the split aircon's receiver.

I assume you mean transistors, not transmitters. As long as the specs meet your demands (e.g. current/voltages etc) any NPN transistor should be fine. 2N2222, 2N3904, etc. There are lots to chose from. As situations/applications/circuits are different, there is no perfect transistor.

As for 940nm IR LEDs, I bought a bag of about 50 for a few dollars several years ago. They are no-name brand, clear, and had a beam angle of about 30deg, and they worked fine in my environment. There are good ones, and there are bad ones out there. shrug

As long as you use an appropriate resistor (or several IR LEDs in series so as to have a reasonable voltage drop(s) in the circuit (see that YT video I linked earlier to calculate what voltage drop/resistors etc you need for 5V, you should be fine. The extra current available in the power supply should not affect it. As long as it's got enough to power(current capacity) the ESP and the IR leds you'll be fine. e.g. I power an ESP8266, and 5 IR Leds, 2 transistors off a 1Amp usb power supply and have never had a problem. 2Amps is overkill. ;-)
