Send "UNKNOWN" ir command

First thanks for this library working great for me, starting to interface home assistant and IR.

I have a Marantz reciever power toggle and volume functions are RC5 so those are working great but some of the source selects and other functions are coming through as UNKNOWN. Is there anyway that I can send this Unknown code via irSend?

Is these repetadly comming in as UNKNOWN?

As the FAQ states there is no "data" for unknown so you need sendRaw there. But I think it is more likely that your receiver picks up garbage (also covered by the FAQ)

But feel free to post the raw signals and we might be able to do some integrity checks on them here to verify.

Short reply from phone, you have a quite high value of 4000+, there is some threshold values that can be adjusted and would hopefully give better results here.

You also seem to be using a version of the library with bugs. I don't think it will make any difference, but please do try and update just to be sure.

I'm running v 2.8.4 (the newest version arduino offers me). I messed with kTolerance(from 5%-100%) and kMinUnknown(from 1-500) still get unknown and 4000+ data. I should note that if I send the raw data the device responds correctly.

@natedreger I'm concerned that you may not be using the version of the library you think you are. Can I suggest you remove All instances of our library, and add it again.
I say this because I noticed:

Library : v_IRREMOTEESP8266_VERSION_MAJOR._IRREMOTEESP8266_VERSION_MINOR._IRREMOTEESP8266_VERSION_PATCH

which was a bug that was fixed in v2.8.2
i.e. "Fix library version string calculation. (#1727 #1725)"

Also, can you tell us what hardware you're using?
And does the library always fail to detect the AUX2 button as RC5?

OK tried deleting and reinstalling, now seeing Library : v 2.8.4, but sadly same issue.

Yes the library always fails to identify Aux2 as RC5 (same issue exists with most of the other buttons from same remote). Always consistent and re-sending the RAW will execute the correct command

Remote is Marantz RC035SR, nodeMCU esp8266 (same issue on both that I tried), Adafruit TSOP38238 IR reciever (38mHz) on pin 14

Okay. So then it sounds like this Marantz is using some protocol which we don't currentlly support. It is not unheard of for a device/remote to use two protocols to control a device.
If you want the unkown protocol supported, we are going to need captures of other "unknown" buttons sent from the remote to be able to work it out.
