I would like to know how to create the ".devdbrc" configuration file for use in Windows and Xampp.

You should be able to simply create a .devdbrc file in your project root and it should Just Work™

It doesn't work. With XAMPP, mysql is not installed natively on windows but has its own executable file. How does devdb know where to look for the executable?

Is this a custom PHP app or using a framework/tool like Symfony/WordPress, etc. such that DevDb zero config is not supported?

Thank you for the reply. I don't think the credentials are failing. Is there any log to see what the error is?

Yes. You can share the output of the log output. See example here: #97 (comment)

Also, I think I completely miss your original question "how to create the ".devdbrc" configuration file for use in Windows and Xampp". It is in the readme: 2. Config-based Database Loading

If you're able to get that up, then share the log if still not working.
