VMware workstation?

Currently I have managed to fix a dark theme on my vmware workstation with the following:

    # Dark theme
    environment.variables.GTK_THEME = "Adwaita:dark";
    environment.systemPackages = [ pkgs.gnome-themes-extra ];

Although I cannot get it to work with any other theme - would it be possible to set a e.g. catppuccin theme on vmware? And even better via stylix?

What is preventing Stylix to be installed the "regular" way inside VMware?

Not sure if I understand your question, this is regarding the host machine running vmware. The theme for vmware with my hyprland configuration is simply set to a light mode and relies on the GTK_THEME variable. The cause for this? I don't know, I cannot find anything about it in stylix documentation.

I assumed it's not supported but I was surprised that there was no existing discussion if that was the case.

Potentially VMWare includes its own GTK theme which overrides the system default? Is VMWare a GTK app?

I won't swear by it but considering GTK_THEME has an impact I would assume so?
