Preferance window opens but is blank !
on my 15.6.1 osx intel

Cannot reproduce with latest nightly and with current master.

Please try again with a blank config. Maybe something is messed up with your darktablerc?

I did as you suggested.
I also tried using other darktablerc from other DT setups. It does implements their setting yet preference window remain to be blank. I can not even move the mouse on the left column menu.

I just tried to create new style. That window also is blank and can not be edit. I wish someone can confirm the issue and possibly solution. It seems osx_86 users are left behind.

Hi, I understand that dt on Mac intel models is an almost lost cause. However I can confirm the issue reported here on iMAC intel i7 running OS 15.6.1. The latest build from @MStraeten in pixl.us (+475) can be run with a darktablerc file modified with the previous build +333. The modification are taken in account.

Unfortunately, last x86 built and MStraeten also suffering not the only in preference window but also style window any other windows that needs edit. I hope the next official DT release will include osx-intel. I am lucky that I can run DT in linux thru virtualbox. However many don't. It will be a shame to lose a large segment of photographers who run osx-intel. Many who left LR, CaptureOne for this great free software. I personally can not and will not invest in another computer that will just become obsolete in a few years. Sorry for the rant

I hope the next official DT release will include osx-intel.

We can't even build darktable with the Homebrew package repository on GitHub. Not to mention that at least one of the developers must be able to reproduce the bugs specifically on an Intel mac, so they must own such a device.

It will be a shame to lose a large segment of photographers who run
osx-intel.

Would you like to help with building and supporting darktable on Intel macs? For now, this means figuring out how to build with the macports package base and maintaining it (including figuring out what to do if there are problems with this build process).

I am still on an Intel Mac and I am not able to reproduce the issue.
And I cannot believe that this has anything to do with the system architecture.

So we clearly need a way to reproduce to give any help here.

I am using English in France. Could it be an issue in @MStraeten build for intel because he is using a virtual machine for the builds, and he is running dt on M1, thus he can not test on intel?. Is it possible to test your build in my Mac?

No, I do not think it has to do with @MStraeten built. I installed the last Nightly which was available for intel and had the same problem. But I think it is not available anymore. Easy indicator is if it has a new initial splash/version than has these issues. I did not test other windows than style, preference. This issue may extend to other windows, such as preset, etc. @MStraeten has given me a link to build it from Macport. I will give it a try. I have both Macport and brew. Hope that does not create an issue. Although I write scripts and simple app for my own use. C or C+ is above what I can do.

homebrew build

Self-compiling darktable on macOS is no rocket science :-)

You need to nave Xcode installed.

Then read the instructions in packaging/macosx:

BUILD_hb.txt for homebrew
BUILD.txt for MacPorts

In the past I failed miserably, but I will try again :). The build homebrew in the previous msg is supposed to work on which OS? Asking because I downloaded but it does not open on 15.6 neither in 15.7( msg: You can't use this version of dt with this version of macOS
