First I'd like to remove a question because it's no longer relevant as a question and it is now a feature request. In order to remove that general discussion, is it best to say answered so that it moves down in priority?
Now about the request itself: I noticed most of the systems younger than the N64 can get away with the fact that you can have the right analog stick mapped to the right analog stick and not interfere with anything else.
However that is not the case with the Nintendo 64. I understand why you made it the case with the N64 thinking most games would use that as a camera or look feature.
However there are some games like ready to rumble Killer Instinct gold and Mortal Kombat Trilogy among others which use the four yellow C buttons as actual buttons instead of a camera look feature.
If you map the right stick to the C buttons then it'd be very hard to play the game with the default controller because you have to flick the sea stick for each attack that's medium or heavy.
And the funny thing is most fight sticks do not have access to the right analog stick therefore C North and C East would be inaccessible on a fight stick.
That's why I suggest there should be an alternate fight mode as one of the modes on the N64 blue retro device.
I don't know if there's any other games besides fight games which would treat the four C buttons like action buttons and not like a right analog stick. But if there are more than that many then maybe that should be a mode.
You do realize that there was no authorized fight stick for the Nintendo 64. The only way you could get a fight stick with somebody a Mad Catz back when it was unlicensed third party.
And also why do right trigger and right bumper BOTH map to R when one of those two could map to C North or C East? On a fight stick, the right bumper is heavy punch and the right trigger is heavy kick yet they both map to R on N64 which is Super Kick. From a fighter's perspective, that's a bad waste of a button slot with two button slots used for the same function.
As I understand it, you used it for games that work well with pads, so I don't blame you not seeing it until now.
But isn't that what these forums are for, so that people see problems and solutions.
