Controller not player 1, Web Interface can't connect

Hi, I'm getting pretty frustrated with this one. I hope someone can help.

I have an adapter from AliExpress (two from different vendors actually, both same behavior) that is based on BlueRetro software. Here is the original listing and I'm adding pictures of it as well.

This problem occurs with both my PS3 controller and my PS4 controller. After first pairing, everything works as expected. DS3's player 1 LED lights up. DS4's lightbar will be blue. Once the console (and the adapter) is shut down and then powered on again, upon reconnection my DS3 will say it's player 2 now. The DS4's lightbar is red. My inputs don't do anything on the screen. The adapter is plugged into the player 1 slot at all of those times. Sometimes the DS3 even claims it's player 3 or 4. To solve this I have to hold the Pair button for about 10 seconds (rapid flashing blue LED), and DS4 needs to be put in pairing mode (PS button + Share). Rinse and repeat.

I also can't connect through the web interface. What's odd is that I used to be able to, through my phone at least. I think recently I was able to successfully connect and get into the configuration menus once. But now the web interface will consistently say NetworkError and "Argh couldn't connect" or whatever.

I've been able to flash both official BlueRetro firmware (tried both version types), and the firmware offered on the website that the adapters manual links to. The page seems really unreliable and possibly malicious, I honestly don't know, I linked it through web.archive.org. The behavior regardless seems to be the same.

I'm adding a bunch of logs below. Hope someone has an idea, because I really like the idea of this product and it wasn't cheap either. Thanks in advance.

I connect the adapter to my PC via USB. I hold the
Pair button for 10 seconds for a full reset. After a while, I open
putty (this is where the console log starts). I put my DS4 in
pairing mode (PS button + Share) and press Pair on the adapter.

DS4 lightbar is blue. The output stops here
for now (the last line repeats every now and then).
Now I unplug the adapter from USB and then plug it back in.
I then open putty again. The log I'm posting here starts
after there was a pause in console messages after the adapter
powered up (before connecting the DS4) for simplification. I
then only press PS button on the DS4 to connect normally.

The lightbar this time is red.

I'm going to add the console output after pressing
the Reset button as well, since boot messages seem
possibly relevant. The DS4 is still connected (red) at
this point, but it turns itself off a few seconds after
pressing the Reset button, as expected.

You likely got a Bluetooth device in your house that auto connect to BlueRetro like a led strip or bt audio

I live in an apartment building so I suppose all kinds of whacky BT interference could be possible. I can't confirm it unless I test in a completely different environment though. Might have to get back here once I do. Is there a way to avoid this though, without relocating?

Sorry for the double post. I tested it on the other side of the apartment and both problems are solved that way. Web interface connects and lets me change settings, and DS4's lightbar is blue upon connection. BT interference also I suppose explains why I used to be able to connect with the web interface and not anymore (unless going to another room).

Relocating isn't a solution though... isn't there a way to whitelist MAC addresses or something? This makes the adapter unusable for me, but seems like something that could be solved in software.

Holy heck, it's my cheap amplifier. I use it for wired audio but it has BT and apparently when it's off my DS4 connects as blue consistently. Turning it off is a solution for now but I don't understand why it's even trying to connect to the adapter?? Or why the adapter lets it connect to it...
