Authentification Feature on Android device

Hello,

I actually have a IPerf3 serveur on version 3.18. I wanna use it on my Android application and i have 2 questions.

1- When i take the iperf3.18 arm64 binary, i can't use following function :
--username username for authentication
--rsa-public-key-path path to the RSA public key used to encrypt
authentication credentials

2- I didn't understand how i can use this binary into my Android application, it seems like i have to do this on a root device.

Hi, this is a native iperf3 binary and it is activated from a shell command line. It is not wrapped with an Android user interface that allow to run it as application. The common way to run it if from Android's adb shell command line.

thank you for response, there is anyway to launch iperf3 test from an android application ?

I just wanna get the iperf.so to use it on my application, it is possible with NDK right ?

Hi @tgoutel, I wonder if anything worked for ya. Im also in kinda similar situation. I think we can compile it using NDK then package that native library into app. Then using JNI, we can access it in application.

Hi @MudassarStd, thank you for help, i tried something like that but i have to much compilation error when i tried to compile iperf3

Or other import errors

Hi @tgoutel, did you run ./configure before the make? If may be that some of the environment variables are not set properly. E.g. pthread header files may not be included if HAVE_PTHREAD is not set properly. You may also look on this project's Dockerfile to see how iperf3 is built here.

Just to make sure, note that your build should have iperf_pthread.c that was added only in iperf3 version 3.17.1. It simulates the missing thread related functions in Android.
