RS485 to RJ45/Ethernet Module

Hi there,

Would there be any generic option to make this work with the like of the below linked module? I have it working using a a python script in a docker container I created. I did attempt to configure the modbus protocol in HA but had issues with templating values which broke the rest of the configuration.

Hi @Banana5kin, I guess you would also need some sort of a modbus proxy.

I'm not entirely sure whether a proxy is required. I have it on the local lan connected via the RS485 output of the Inverter (Sofar ME3000SP) >> MQTT >> Node Red. Issue is there is a significant amount of manual configuration to get it to a point as you can appreciate.
