delete a selected line but without deleting a character on the next line

Hello,

if I select a whole line (say, by a double click) and then press delete,
sam deletes one more character on the next line. I don't think it should.

It actually happens that deleting a selection with 'delete' always
deletes an extra character after the selection... (at least for me)

backspace deletes previous char, delete next. that is an intended behaviour. to cut the text use escape key.
