Evaluate the following two modules.

https://www.drupal.org/project/xmlsitemap
https://www.drupal.org/project/simple_sitemap

Use cases:

Need to exclude content or nodes based on field values (e.g exclude all nodes that have field_model set as Page)
Handle site maps for multilingual content
stretch goal
ability to index things defined by a drupal view
