Check release notes for haml/sass 3.x. Will it break any of my existing templates (especially white space issues)?

Should I install markdown/textile for including help text in templates?

For markdown, RDiscount looks good. For textile, RedCloth is the only choice (?). Both compile C code and are installed via gems.

Need to figure out how to add/update frozen gems in rails.
