There are some events that we host which are semi-public, where members can invite along friends and family. Currently non-members either have to make a guest account or use another service in order to pay for attendance which isn't optimal. A solution to this would be to allow for public events where you don't need a user account to attend, but instead just have to fill out first-and last name on the event page in order to register attendance.

Would this be solved by just allowing a combined signup and register for event?

We could do something like:

• If guest attendance is allowed for an event, and the user is not currently logged in
• Show the register for attendance button like if the user was logged in
• Show the register modal like for logged in users, but with a full register form including first name, last_name, email and a mark rule acceptance checkbox.
• When registering for the event we create a user first, which will trigger a verification mail to use created user.
• Register the created user for the event when the verification link has been clicked.
