Description

  1. All three "See Also" Links are broken --> 404 File Not found landing page
  2. On the page linked above is told .NET 10 would introduce, while on the actual dotnet download page is the 13th told to be implemented!
  3. The Link in the Winforms pages category is working, but in the left side navigation of this page selecting Desktop .NET > [Version List] there is only up to .NET 9 listed, the 10th is still missing, same in the page itself left side navigation, only up to .NET 9 is listed

@CamSoper who is the loc person for docs nowadays?

  1. The links have been recently updated on the English version so loc will probably get the fixed links soon.
  2. Can you clarify what you mean by this? Are you talking about C# 13 or C# 14?
  3. It seems the TOC file hasn't been localized yet.

so the via dotnet download the new preview, the link leads not to the ms learn article than to a github page which not contains "See Also" any longer? the "Whats new in .NET 10" article available via google search is not updated but the PR has been merged.
Issue seems to be still present

@DevTKSS The main branch is published once a day. You'll see the changes tomorrow.

Also, some of the reported issues were for the localized content. So, you might have to still follow up on that later on.

Can you tell me why the ms docs telling about c#14 support and dotnet download page of .net 10 pre 2 is actually still telling about c#13 support? That is misleading

@mairaw I think he's talking about this on https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/10.0

Image

@DevTKSS Can you please provide some screenshots of the docs (with URLs) you're having trouble with? I can't seem to recreate it.

@CamSoper it was about https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/dotnet/core/whats-new/dotnet-10/overview as indicated in the issue for bullet 1. I was trying to clarify the other feedback.

Image

That section worked on the en-us version but it is broken for loc (I think you might have deleted that section on the last update)

@mairaw I did delete that section, so is it worth opening a loc ticket? How long does loc usually take?

Probably a few days. I think you can open an issue for the TOC problem (bullet 3 in the list)

The Version 13 / 14 I told is refering to https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/10.0 which guides to the Release notes I created this issue to both are connected in users looking up that notes. My first lookup has been throught the Facebook Post of the preview, where they also did advertise the 14 version but looking at the actual download page to get it, it seems like the left hand do not know what the right one is doing...

@mairaw I

on the de-de version there is still 404-Page not found.
looked up the en-us one from here and fun fact: The mentioned "See Also" Section does look completly different?

Image

To compare:

Image

and the toc on the left at de-de is missing .Net 10 completly

Image

in en-us:

Image

and seems like the c# docs did also not recognize, there has been a new version of them

  • Typically, for every release they only change the supported language at RC release to the new ones. Until then, you need to edit the csproj file to use the preview version. But I'll confirm with the release team what's the logic there.
  • the see also section and the broken links should go away once the loc version is updated. It takes a few days.
  • I suggested @CamSoper that he opens a loc bug for the TOC issue. It should be up to date by now.
  • I've created PR Add what's new in C# 14 #45452 to add C# 14 to the language reference page
