Due Diligence

  • I have done my due diligence

What can we help you with?

First of all, I am a Linux user for years but by no mean I am qualified to resolve problem by my own. I generally do understand what I am asked to do, and I force myself to even when it is unnecessary.

The problem I have is regarding 0auth log in. My version of raspotify stop working 2 weeks ago. I followed the post regarding enabling 0auth authentication. Which basically tells you to change the DynamicUser on raspotify.sevice from "Yes" to "No". Then to log in with 0auth, to cache your credential, copy the file into /var/cache/raspotify and to unquote your credential in the raspotify.conf so that librespot default log in method is being used.

I could login using
librespot --cache <YOUR_CONFIGURATION_PATH> -j
and then see librespot on my phone. But when I shut the process and try to restart Raspotify using systemctl restart raspotify nothing happens (once more I copied/pasted the credential.json file into /var/cache/Raspotify). Nothing appears on other device using Spotify. As if Raspotify or Librespot doesn't try to login at all. Before unquoting credential on the .conf file I could see the log telling me to use 0auth, by unquoting the log doesn't report anything, but nothing happen.

I did try to locally build Librespot before the update, but same thing happened. And I did try a clean install once the update was out. Same result.

There is something I do not understand here.

That might be something obvious, but once more I am a low skill Linux user. I would love to understand and fix this.

Sorry too for my "not so great" English as I am not a native speaker. I'm facing a lot of obstacles here !

Thanks you for looking at this and have a nice day.
