How do you handle Spotlight indexing Nix packages?

I just tried installing Obisidan from the Nix package repo (link).

However, I found that I was only able to start the app from the CLI - macOS Spotlight didn't seem to index the app, so I can't just do CMD + space, "Obsi..." to start the app.

I found some discussions of this issue (Spotlight not indexing Nix package) online - it seems to be a known/open issue, with some potential workarounds:

• Provide a convention for allowing MacOS Spotlight to index Applications without getting hacky NixOS/nix#7055

What do people using this template suggest using?

(For now, I've simply installed Obsidian from the Homebrew casks, as that works and is easier for now)
