Why I built it

I wanted a statusline timer that reflects actual work elapsed, rather than just wall-clock time that ticks endlessly when waiting for user input, and that accurately tracks the entire duration of a task across multi-turn tool loops from prompt submission to complete settlement.

Key Features

• Zero-drift active tracking: Only counts active work duration while Pi is thinking, calling tools, and executing. The timer stays completely static when waiting for user input.
• Whole-task lifecycle accounting: Accurately tracks the entire duration from prompt submission (before_agent_start) to final settlement (agent_settled), across all multi-turn tool loops.
• Clean integer seconds: Outputs time in clean integer seconds (12s, 45s, 1m 20s, 1h 05m), avoiding confusing decimals.
• Theme-aware statusline: Shows in the footer (⏱ 累计 45s · 上轮 12s / ⏱ 累计 52s · 工作中 7s) matching the current TUI theme.
• Detailed statistics: /chat-time command displays total active time, task counts, and average duration per task in a popup.
