Canonical now publishes information about the latest Ubuntu Images into SSM parameter store. Investigate whether they publish Kubernetes worker node images for Ubuntu and switch to the SSM resolver in eksctl for Ubuntu1804 and Ubuntu2004. This will help deprecate and remove the auto image resolver in eksctl.

I could not find any information about Canonical publishing the latest Ubuntu Kubernetes worker node AMIs to SSM parameter store. This blog has details on finding Ubuntu images with the SSM parameter store, but it is for general-purpose Ubuntu OS images, and not for Ubuntu Kubernetes worker nodes.
