Description

@dhru42

Description

With the 9.2 release, Elastic AI Assistant introduces Chat Sharing, a feature that allows users to share chat sessions directly from the Assistant interface.

What:
Users can now share chat sessions within their organization, either with specific teammates or broadly as “public” across the organization.

Shared chats maintain attribution (i.e., messages are tied to the correct user identities).

Access controls follow existing organizational permissions.

All shares are auditable, with entries logged (e.g., "James shared chatID with Dhru") in Kibana audit logs.

When:

Target release: 9.2. / serverless release (09/15)

Why:
Previously, users had to rely on workarounds such as screenshots or manually adding chat transcripts into cases to collaborate. This disrupted workflow and slowed down collaboration. With Chat Sharing, security analysts, incident responders, and other personas can seamlessly share AI-driven discoveries in their existing chat workflow, improving speed, accuracy, and collaboration in security operations.
