Faraday is essentially deprecated from my understanding per lostisland/faraday#454 for this reason I would ask / suggest that elasticsearch-ruby migrate or plan to migrate from Faraday to Hurley.

@kkirsche So, first of all, I've been in similar situations couple of times, when it has been announced that MultiJson or something like that will be "deprecated" or similar, it's usually not clear how the situation will be resolved. By the way, I don't read the issue like that, that Faraday is "essentially deprecated".

Let's see what happens. In the meantime, Faraday works perfectly fine, we have lots of unit and integration tests for that, and can decide when there's a substantial pressure to move off Faraday what to do, including getting rid of that layer completely and provide the abstraction within the gem itself.
