Increase actionable area of an app icon all way to the screen edge

To improve UX I propose to increase an activity area (coloured green) of the app icon all way to the screen edge.
Usually when trying to click on something on the dock the cursor overshoots and stops at the edge. It means that user needs to compensate and go back a little bit to click on the icon.
