Bail if custom PPAs? Or big warning, and comment out the non-stock sources

Are there other situations we'd want to bail/warn on? Installer-like checks for:

• Power connected
• Minimum space required

Less like a page for each check, and a single list of tick, tick tick

Heavily encourage backing up sensitive data

What's the likelihood that there could be a (mostly) breakage-free 'reset base package system' tickbox for when upgrading, as to not run it to such problems?
