Please help me, Mic static sounds issues when talking to people on my laptop. #184

For some reason EVERY TIME i USE MY MIC ON MY PC IT STARTS PRODUCING ALLOT OF BACKGROUND KETTLE LIKE WHISTLING SOUNDS THAT ARE VERY ANNOYING AND ARE MAKING IT HARD FOR ME TO ENJOY MY NEW LINUX LAPTOP. please HELP, I'M VERY NEW TO LINUX, i KINDA DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO WINDOWS 10 AGAIN.

May be acoustic feedback? Try reducing the sensitivity of the microphone or the loudness of the speaker. Keep the speakers and microphone as far apart as possible. You can adjust the microphone and speaker settings using Sound plug in the System Settings app or using the "Sound Settings" option on the wingpanel sound indicator context menu.

Try using headphones instead of speakers - if the whistling stops it is probably acoustic feedback.

You can get much more detailed control over the sound system by installing "Pulse Audio Volume Control" from the AppCenter. Make sure you install the GTK version not the QT one if you are using elementaryos (or other Gnome based distro).
